Gardners Candies

Adams Avenue & 26th Street P.O. Box E
Tyrone, PA 16686
Company Information:
Gardners Candies was founded in 1897 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania by a sixteen-year-old boy named James “Pike” Gardner. Operating out of a small store in downtown Tyrone, Pike later added a horse-drawn wagon to his business so he could transport and sell his candy, popcorn and peanuts at local fairs and carnivals. Gardners Candies grew over the years by expanding its product line to satisfy customer needs. With a reputation built upon quality products and affordable prices as well as a commitment to customer service, Gardners Candies continues to provide its customers with the same values the company was built on in 1897.

Today, Gardners Candies has 15 retail stores in Pennsylvania, each beautifully decorated with tempting candies. Gardners creates a variety of arrangements for its customers including candy-filled trays, baskets and collector tins, all decorated and wrapped for elegant presentation. As a special service to its customers, Gardners Candies will mail anywhere, and gift-wrapping is free.

Gardners is famous for its Original Peanut Butter Meltaway, a creamy, smooth peanut butter dipped in rich chocolate. Although many have tried to duplicate this decedent treat, no one has come close to the Gardner’s family recipe. As a company more than 100 years old, Gardners Candies credits success to Pike’s philosophy of giving customer rich quality products and services, and continuously striving to make the best even better.
