In 10 short years, Ann Resnick, CEO and founder of Annie Pies Bakery has taken a one-woman operation in a residential garage to a flourishing multifaceted business that produces elegant desserts for distribution throughout Florida and points beyond.
This American success story is the stuff dreams are made of.
In 1989 Ann relocated to Florida with all options open to her. She chose to utilize her marketing skills geared from the New York fashion industry to sell her girl friend's desserts. Not having commercial freezer space for the imported New York product, Ann compromised with second hand deep chest freezers placed in her mother's garage.
Big semi tractor trailers delivered the product in the wee small hours of the morning and Ann would pull the orders and personally deliver the product to her customers. Her customers were obtained by cold calling on any possible candidate for dessert sales.
In time her customer base grew and so did her neighbors' annoyance at the weekly frozen freight deliveries. It was time to move; growth demanded advancement. Voila, Annie Pie's Bakery opened its doors at 150 National Place, Suite 140 in Longwood where it operates today.
In these early days, Ann distributed other people's products. With the spirit of "I can do that", Ann entered into the manufacture of her own label desserts. In her words, "We began with
