At Annie s Naturals we believe that genetic engineering is a serious issue. We do not support the use of any genetically modified ingredients, and we are doing all we can to ensure that our products are GMO-free.
By law, our organic products are certified organic by an approved certifier, Oregon Tilth, and do not contain genetically modified ingredients. When we buy ingredients for our natural products, we work closely with our ingredient suppliers trusted vendors with whom we have long-term relationships to ensure the quality of the ingredients we use and to guarantee that their products are not genetically modified. Each of our vendors provides us with a letter of assurance that their products are GMO-free, and we contact them annually to ask for reconfirmation of their commitment to provide us with GMO-free ingredients.
If we cannot find a GMO-free ingredient, we will use an organic variety, even though the finished product is not organic. Many of our natural dressings contain organic ingredients.
Some of our ingredients come from Identity Preservation (IP) Programs. For example, the expeller-pressed canola oil is produced from seed grown, harvested, and produced through an IP program that ensures seed and oil are segregated from genetically modified seed and oil.
In our products that contain dairy, we use organic sour cream, organic no-fat yogurt and organic whole yogurt, which are rBGH free. The Parmesan cheese we use is rBGH free, how
