Beaufort Fisheries is a factory that uses menhaden as the raw material to make
fish meal, fish oil, and high protein fish solubles.
When he stands on the wharf of the state’s sole surviving menhaden fishing-and-processing operation — one of only two on the East Coast — Beaufort Fisheries Inc.’s president and general manager can easily imagine fins circling him.
