Beginning in 1966 with two employees and a tiny, one-story office/warehouse on Tennessee Street in San Francisco, Victor Barulich and his cousin John started BiRite Foodservice Distributors as a customer service driven canned goods supplier to San Francisco's fine restaurants. Over the years, BiRite has evolved into the largest independent broadline foodservice distributor in Northern California.
In 1997 BiRite moved into its current state-of-the-art facility in Brisbane. The 235,000 square foot facility is just minutes outside of San Francisco and is strategically located to efficiently serve Northern California customers.
BiRite's product offerings include dry groceries, meat, seafood, poultry, dairy, frozen foods, disposables, warewashings and cleaning chemicals, and equipment and smallwares.
BiRite is a member of UniPro Foodservice Inc. a leading foodservice distribution network in the United States. Comprised of 300 shareholder companies each distributor in UniPro is independently owned. With a collective sales volume of $16 Billion the buying power of UniPro enables it's members to receive enhanced purchasing opportunities, thereby providing better pricing and a vast array of products for their customers.
