The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition offers 5 comprehensive programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree:
Dietetics
Dietetics is the science of applying food and nutrition to health.
Food Industry & Business
This curriculum is designed to prepare students for a more general and broad-based career in the food industry in the areas of management and business administration, communications and general sales.
Food Science
Food science is a multidisciplinary field and students will be taught the principles of chemistry, biology and engineering as it applies to food. Students are exposed to all components of food processing.
Hospitality Management
Students take courses in business, food production and management. Practical work experience and an internship are required in this major.
Human Nutrition
This program of study provides the background for students who plan to pursue careers in nutrition and related health sciences.
