We are a family owned and operated winery located in Sonoma County, California. We are 3 miles from the Pacific Ocean, at an elevation of 1000ft., making us the highest elevation winery in Sonoma County. Nestled on a sunny hilltop and surrounded by redwood forests, our views are as beautiful as they are breathtaking. We produce small amounts of hand-crafted, ultra-premium wines. Open daily from 12noon to 5pm for tasting and picnicking. Come visit us and experience our award-winning wines!
Basil senior had always loved making wine (and beer!) as a hobby, so it was only natural to take it to the next step. After living in the city for many years, he decided to move to the country and plant a vineyard. After extensive searching for the perfect location, we moved to Annapolis in 1975, and planted our vineyards. After farming for several years, we decided to make wine. The first wine was made in a redwood grove at the top of the hill. It was a 1986 Cabernet Sauvignon. It was great! We built the winery in 1988, and began making wine from each vintage. As we've grown over the years, there is much more to do: weddings, vineyard management, wine making, farm work, bottling, marketing and sales … so much to do. Good thing there are plenty of children to commandeer! We are family owned and operated, and are involved in every phase of the wine growing process, from pruning to bottling.
