SunOpta Global Organic Ingredients is a part of SunOpta’s largest business unit. Headquartered in Aptos, California, Organic Ingredients and Beta Pure Foods were founded in the early 80’s and 90’s. Both were acquired by SunOpta in 2004. Since the acquisitions, Organic Ingredients has become a major ingredient supplier to the food industry and the primary sourcing unit for several of the SunOpta companies. SunOpta Global Organic Ingredients became its own division with the recent acquisition of Tradin Organics, the largest European organic ingredient supplier. Organic Ingredients is also primary in Consumer Products developing all facets of a new product from R&D to finished goods product. Organic Ingredients supplies many domestic grocery stores, including: Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Costco and other natural grocery chains. SunOpta Global Organic Ingredients and Beta Pure Foods are committed to social and environmental responsibility.
