H.J. Heinz is an $8.4 billion dollar global manufacture and marketer of pure food products and nutritional services with operating companies worldwide. It has grown through acquisitions; support of its core categories; geographic expansion; and scrupulous attention to quality, innovation and costs. Heinz has number-one or number-two brands in more than 50 world markets.
Heinz North America, one of the Company’s three affiliates, has two business units, Foodservice and Consumer Products. Heinz Foodservice is a $1.6 billion dollar business, which produces ketchup, condiments, sauces, soup, frozen entrees, gourmet desserts, appetizers and processed tomatoes products. As a part of its growth strategy, Heinz Foodservice has acquired ten businesses in the last 15 years. The Foodservice division makes up about 40% of Heinz North America’s total business, which positions the organization well for future growth in the food-away-from-home market.
Heinz Foodservice sells quality food products to restaurants around the globe, including Wendy’s, Au Bon Pain and Olive Garden, to name a few. Working with these and other customers, Heinz Foodservice plays a critical role in defining and shaping consumers eating patterns by developing products to capitalize on ever changing consumer taste preferences and behavior.
