* * PRODUCTION SHIFT MANAGER * * Position Summary
The Production Shift Manager is a key contributor behind a successful manufacturing facility. This person will supervise and coordinate activities of the production staff and assist with improving the efficiencies of the production floor.
This is the ideal position for all motivated candidates who thrives on challenge. This is a supervisory role and will oversee subordinate staff and is perfect for those who like to be hands-on and enjoys multi-tasking. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
Job Responsibilities include:
- PRODUCTION: Meet Production schedule and ensure products are in compliance with all applicable specifications. This position will help maintain set standards of productivity (i.e., cases/person per hour) and minimize waste of raw and finished products.
- QUALITY: Follow all HACCP program requirements to prevent system failures and ensure compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This position will interface with the QA Department on interdepartmental issues.
- SAFETY: Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines and help reduce the lost time hour percentage for employees. This position will identify and report/ correct safety issues relevant to safety issues.
We will train for this position, but do require the following:
Required qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience managing 20-30 production supervisors, leads, and line workers. This position is responsible for the supporting Plant Manager in overall direction and will assist with interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
- Experience with interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
- Experience with performance appraisals and rewarding and disciplining employees.
Desired qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years manufacturing supervisory experience required, ideally in food processing.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
