KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (State general nature, level and purpose of job in summary form.)

Provide leadership and support in the areas of machinery design, capability, evaluation, training, modifications to fit divisional needs for packaging used in wet pet foods. Also provide technical leadership in the area of Mechanical Packaging technology in performing the function and protecting Corporate goodwill represented by its packages and packaging equipment. Provide expert technical assistance in packaging processes and quality issues with primary emphasis in the area of package manufacturing focused on mechanical packaging technology, including equipment and system design selection, evaluation, and/or recommendation. This support and direction begins with package / process concept development through manufacturing processes and facilities. Leads teams, projects, and capital investment projects for multi-production facilities in accordance with key business objectives. ' Detailed knowledge of primary and secondary packaging equipment systems and packaging technology, assist Division in taking advantage of Nestl?'s worldwide technological know-how in packaging. ' Design and develop modern technological equipment and concepts and techniques used in package equipment systems and related processes ensuring adherence to manufacturing instructions, quality standards and budgeted costs. ' Coordinate resources for packaging equipment system installation and startup activities. ' Ensure continuous improvement of the production facilities through coordination of process concerns in the manufacture of finished packaging equipment at the lowest possible costs with optimum quality, quantity, time and hygienic conditions required. ' Coordinate the development and industrialization/ commercialization of new packaging processes as well as major line extensions. ' Lead cross-functional teams in regards to implementation of Manufacturing strategy and policy in the industrialization of packages and mechanical packaging processes. ' Interact with facilities to develop packaging technology Master Plan for site. ' Provide Technical Packaging support to Divisional operating departments (Marketing, R&D, Support Center, Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, Product Services, Procurement, Production and Finance). ' Work with Technical Services, Procurement and Packaging personnel on value analysis, equipment and systems, cost reduction, documentation and other problem solving issues/programs (task forces and special projects) as necessary. ' Collaborate with Corporate Engineering and PTC to establish and formalize project priorities and budgets for new technical packaging developments. ' Provide technical process assistance to NPPC as a whole where appropriate. ' Evaluate and recommend most cost effective and capable packaging equipment systems.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical Engineering major preferred) plus at least 5 years required experience (see below) OR at least 10 years required experience for candidates without a Bachelor's degree.

Experience: Required experience must be in factory-level management, engineering, project management, vendor management, equipment maintenance, technical services, and/or mechanical packaging development. Experience specializing in wet products packaging (cans in 3oz to 22oz sizes) is preferred.

Position requires up to 60% travel and working on weekends to complete projects during factory downtime.
