Responsibilities: Pilgrim’s Pride is seeking a Processing Supervisor for our Live Oak, FL facility. This position will be responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of 1st and 2nd processing to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. Inspects product to verify production specifications are met. Trains and supervises processing personnel. Duties include scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of work as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager. Recommends personnel actions such as hiring, terminations, and/or disciplinary actions.
Basic Responsibilities: • Supervises the day-to-day activities of processing operations and personnel to meet established processing and quality control standards. • Ensures activities meet short-term goals established for processing continuity and balance such as creating shift schedules, ordering materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance. • Works with other plant function areas as needed to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality. • Schedules, trains, and motivates processing labor force to ensure consistent attainment of processing schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels. Interviews and recommends individuals for open positions. • Recommends improvements in processing flow or methods. • Uses operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and to improve product quality. • Notifies management personnel of machines and/or equipment that could be modified to improve processing and quality of products.
- Minimal, if any, travel is required. - Incumbent is required to be on-call 25% - 49% of the time. - Frequent exposures to extreme levels of unfavorable temperature, air and noise conditions, chemical gases and substances, and/or contagious diseases.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - 1 to 3 years of directly related experience and/or training primarily in the food industry. - 1 to 3 years of experience as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager. - Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and labor agreement. - Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Directly related work experience will be accepted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of the educational requirement.
