Job Summary: To direct and conduct research and development projects involving new and existing hop applications, alternative food products, analytical methods and process technology. To assist with the implementation of the findings of research and development efforts – technology transfer role.

Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Research and development of current and alternative hop products. 2.Research and development of alternative food/nutraceutical products. 3.Research and development of process improvements, and new and / or alternative methods for quality control analysis of hop products. 4.Interaction with all JIH divisions and sister companies for the purpose of defining short and long term goals and objectives for research and product development. 5.Interaction with all JIH divisions and sister companies for the purpose of implementing process improvements, new method development or new product development. 6.Supporting scientist for 1) Technical Services, including QA/QC 2) CO2 Iso Operations 3) CO2 Extraction, Pellet Processing, and Warehousing Operations 4) Agronomy 7.Representative of JIH for industry associations e.g. chemical, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, etc. 8.Technical training of JIH staff. 9.Laboratory equipment/instrument maintenance and repair.
