Job Description
MAJOR DUTIES: Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance, & repairs to plant equipment such as bagging machines, ovens, packaging machines, etc. Install, adjust, & repair compressors and motors. Perform changeover and set-up of production machines. Troubleshoot mechanical & basic electrical problems & make appropriate repairs to get machines on line. Perform daily preventive maintenance on plant equipment such as packaging equipment, conveyors, compressors, pumps, product lines. Assist on equipment installations within the plant structure. Complete work orders on broken machinery. Follow all state & federal OSHA safety rules.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably in food manufacturing industry. Must know how to read blueprints and read and write English. High school diploma or equivalent required. Requires a valid driver license. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to use a calculator. Must have own hand tools and know how to use machine shop tools such as drills and punches. Must be able to follow instructions. Welding skills desired. Must be available to work any shift including weekends. Must be able to report to work to handle emergency repair work.
