Job Description
Our client, a major food and beverage manufacturer, is seeking a QA Technologist for their operation in the Danville, VA. This position will be on the 2nd shift. Relocation and excellent benefits will be provided.
This position conducts analysis and tests of various components of a quality control program comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, product assessment, and quality technology. Documents quality issues and performance measures for management review performance. Major areas of responsibility includes System monitoring and development, technical support and auditing, product evaluation, and training and development.
Responsibilities
· Maintain quality systems that are needed to ensure compliance to HACCP , Floor Documents, and Government regulations. · Conduct audits and report results in ensure product is within compliance. · Assist in troubleshooting and provide directions on manufacturing issues. · Accountable to place out of spec finished goods and ingredients on hold as needed to ensure proper quality. · Attend sensory panels to critically evaluate finished product against standard. · Assist in disposition of finished goods. · Train appropriate plant personnel in production and support groups in issues related to the Quality System.
Qualifications
· BS in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field. · Experience in Food Manufacturing Facility. 3-5 years · Working knowledge of Word and Excel · Experience directing the work of others.
