Brewery Systems Engineer

The primary responsibility of this individual is to assist in providing first level response to end users. The individual is responsible for installing, supporting, and maintaining personal computers, laptops, thin clients, printers, cell phones, black berries and various end user computing devices. Duties include monitoring systems, troubleshooting scripts, writing new scripts, supporting the lead Systems Administrator, administering e-mail, provisioning accounts, maintaining security and system documentation, and ensuring that the brewery infrastructure remains operational.

The position also includes implementing solutions to correct identified problems, troubleshooting production problems (including off-shift remote support), and developing process improvement projects in conjunction with operators, area supervisors, engineers and maintenance personnel. The individual is expected to recognize and drive opportunities for process improvements in the brewery and their primary customer support area, as well as provide technical leadership in their area of specialization. For larger projects, the individual will work with the corporate project team to integrate new equipment and applications with existing applications.

The successful candidate will possess: A Bachelor's degree with focus on IT or appropriate functional field. Help desk experience is a plus. Must have knowledge and experience in using scripting languages, such as VBScript, JScript, advanced batch files, PowerShell, or Perl; have strong technical knowledge of the Microsoft Windows 2000, and XP operating systems. A strong development background is a plus in these languages: VB6, C#, .asp, ASP.NET. Have good familiarity with SharePoint. Be able to diagnose operating systems and hardware errors and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.

The individual must be able to function well in cross-functional teams, manage frequent customer interactions, interact with vendors and vendor technical support and provide basic technical consulting. The position requires good oral and written communications skills, strong customer service skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities. The job also requires the ability to spot repetitive problems and provide solutions that apply to that class of problems. The ideal candidate should also be able to train effectively and possess good documentation skills.
