Job Description
Bosco's Pizza Company has been selling "pizzeria quality" frozen pizza and breadsticks to the food service industry since 1988. Bosco’s products are sold through major food service distributors primarily in the Midwest. Our customers include schools, hospitals, employee cafeterias, concessions, and a variety of independent food service establishments.
We are a dynamic growing company experiencing increased sales of 10% - 30% each of the past 10 years. Our 56,000 sq.ft. Facility is located in Warren, MI. This site supports our continued growth as we have the ability to build on up to 90,000 sq.ft. We are currently semi-automated seeking to fully automate in the near future. Currently we are seeking a Sanitation/Safety Manager to join our team.
The Sanitation/Safety Manager oversees the sanitation and safety functions for the entire facility to ensure compliance with all company, industry and food safety standards. This position manages all sanitation employees and coordinates their respective activities; in addition this position also oversees the safety requirements of the plant and works as the team leader with all departments.
Sanitation responsibilities · Direct the cleaning activities of all sanitation employees. · Ensure G.M.P. compliance with all direct reports. · Interview and staff sanitation associates accordingly. · Operate department within budget guidelines. · Coordinate the sanitation activities with all necessary departments. · Develop and write the cleaning procedures for new equipment and processing lines. · Responsible for scheduling the sanitation crew as necessary. · Must be a member of the food safety committee and an active participant of plant walk through food safety audits. · Coordinate all cleaning chemical inventory and ordering. · Resolve employee concerns and questions relative to the sanitation department. · Maintain the Master Cleaning schedule. · Coordinate all pest control functions including internal and external support.
Safety responsibilities · Develops and administers all aspect of the safety program. · Monitors and assists in enforcement of safety disciplinary action. · Leads work related incident investigations and implements corrective actions when needed. · Directs safety committees and facilitates regular safety meetings
Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred · 5 years sanitation experience in related field · 5 years supervisory of managerial experience preferred · Familiar with GMP’s, OSHA and HACCP programs · Must be able to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization · Must be a results orientated individual · Strong training and coaching skills
