Job Description
Fonterra is a world leader in Dairy production. It is the sixth-largest dairy company in the world, and the most influential by far when it comes to determining international dairy trade. Fonterra is the number one dairy ingredients exporter in the world, handling over a third of all international dairy trade.

  • This role is accountable for growing business in the Organics category area to reach the sales goals in incremental targets as set out by the Fonterra Ingredients Leadership team.
  • Driving sales within Organics customers, Sales Teams, Technical teams and Fonterra Specialty Products Marketing & Innovation functions to develop and execute Customer, Opportunity and Category Plans. Is the driving force and accountable for delivering against the Category Global Plans; understands trends, competitive landscape, value drivers of customers, and masters the solutions that Fonterra can provide to them.
  • Undertake business development activities in-market, by solution selling the new innovative ingredients solutions/products in market
  • Create and execute regional/customer business development plans initially focused on the target marketing organics with growth target of doubling our business within 5 years
  • Define and drive the marketing plans for the appropriate categories, with quantified values associated with any spend and launch budget.
  • Drive product launches in market with goal of surpassing targeted volumes and EBIT within agreed project timeframe
  • Project manage specific opportunities to completion.
  • Interact with S&OP and Manufacturing and the Fonterra Leadership Team to ensure timely and profitable delivery on customer opportunities.
  • Create multi level intimate customer relationships to understand customer strategies and market trends to drive maximum returns from our streams
  • Support Account Managers and GAM’s develop added value business with their customers with target of doubling added value business in 5 years
  • Participate in the Business planning for the SBU to determine where the ROC needs to be positioned in the 5 – 10 year horizon.
  • Participate in the R&D prioritization process
  • Managing in-market category ‘P&L’
  • Build customer relationships at all levels of new and existing customers

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A minimum of 5 years proven skills and experience in selling food ingredients on the international commodity market or selling solutions to large food ingredient customers
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement customer account strategies and deliver on objectives and financial targets
  • Customer-focused with skills to translate and communicate customer requirements within Fonterra
  • Proven record in managing key account customers and delivering appropriate levels of service
  • Experience in working for/dealing with large multinational industrial companies
  • Knowledge of Dairy food products and applications, Dairy processing, packaging and distribution systems, Dairy product quality and health issues

    EDUCATION

  • Bachelors in Food Science/Science/Engineering (or Equivalent)
  • MBA or Graduate coursework preferred
