Cargill Meat Solutions has an exciting opportunity available for a Food Scientist located at our Research & Development facility in Wichita, Kansas. This position will lead the development of new products for the CMS business, including the products, prototyping, commercialization of products and protection of intellectual property. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Understand customer requirements and limitations. Design new products according to customer requirements and production capabilities Collaborate with microbiologist, flavor chemists, culinary, packaging, and process design professionals. Source ingredients, technology and process technology. Manage Intellectual Property. Scale product up to plant trials and production. Interact with marketing and sales to develop message around developed products. Participate in customer presentations and development processes
Qualifications Required B.S. in Meat Science, Food Science, or similar experience required. M.S. or Ph.D. preferred. Minimum 2 years industry experience or equivalent. Proficient knowledge of muscle biology and meat science. Proficient knowledge of meat processing principles and operations. Proficient knowledge of ingredient technology and suppliers. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of team members. Proficient in experimental design, data analysis, and technical reporting
