Job Description
Overview The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company is a recognized leader in confections with a wide range of products including gum, mints, hard and chewy candies, lollipops, and chocolate. The Company has global sales of $5.4 billion and distributes its world-famous brands in more than 180 countries. Three of these brands -- Wrigley's Spearmint, Juicy Fruit, and Altoids-- have heritages stretching back more than a century. Other well-loved brands include Doublemint, Life Savers, Big Red, Winterfresh, Extra, Freedent, Hubba Bubba, Orbit, Creme Savers, Eclipse, and 5(TM). This position is responsible for total convenience channel strategy development & implementation in the following areas; retail, sales planning inclusive of volume/trade, reporting/tracking, co-marketing, and new item/prepack implementation. The Senior Customer Marketing Manager will use his/her expertise to work closely with the convenience channel, Mclane and Team Retail sales teams to maximize convenience channel customer marketing programs, plan channel volume and trade promotions, and maximize retail coverage/distribution effectiveness.

Responsibilities 1. Lead convenience channel sales finance, customer marketing, and retail operations through four direct/indirect reports inclusive of a customer marketing manager, a customer marketing analyst, a retail operations manager, and a financial analyst. 2. Work closely with the convenience channel, Mclane, and Team Retail sales teams in addition to internal National Customer Marketing to develop customer marketing strategies for the total channel, brands, products, sales, trade, and PFO. 3. Lead and participate in the annual sales planning process for the convenience channel sales team and Mclane c-store with an emphasis on delivering identified Wrigley goals and objectives that leverage customer opportunities for Wrigley brands. 4. Lead c-store channel retail strategy and planning that maximizes direct team retail resources, 3rd party broker resources, and distributors. Annual and continuous planning for team retail and 3rd party includes coverage/frequency and distribution-racking-free fill initiatives. Annual and continuous planning for distributors includes trade decisions that need to increase distribution in stores/locations to augment team retail coverage. The Senior CMM will need to have a thorough understanding of the total channel so that critical decisions can be made on trade resources, prioritization and tactics that will maximize retail coverage, and continuous knowledge of total convenience channel consumption/trends to focus on the most impactful retail tactics. 5. Manage the Trade and Operating Budgets as well as the Forecasting, Production and Supply Chain requirements for the convenience channel team. Develop and maintain detailed analysis on consumption vs. shipments. 6. Work cross-functionally with the National Customer Marketing Team and the field sales team to develop strategic co-marketing programs. 7. Lead reporting and tracking strategy for the convenience channel sales team. The convenience channel has direct customer tracking however the channel includes hundreds of indirect retailers in which the Senior CMM needs to lead overall reporting to drive efficiency and visibility to distribution tracking. 8. Perform special projects or assignments as requested by the Vice President of the Convenience Channel.

Requirements This position requires an individual who is capable of developing customer and marketing strategies that build volume, market share and PFO. The applicant must have knowledge and experience in channel strategy development, budgeting, the sales planning process for volume/trade, as well as experience in driving co marketing/channel promotion strategy. This individual needs to have strong personnel management and development ability. This individual also needs to be able to work and communicate with other sales teams in order to effectively lead customer marketing in the convenience channel. The ability to lead, conduct meetings, create and deliver formal presentations, along with strong written and verbal communication skills is also necessary for this position. The individual needs to have 8-10 years of experience in the CPG industry, with experience in sales, category management, customer marketing, finance, and retail is preferred.
