Job Description
Overview: Pilgrim's Pride Corporation is the largest chicken producer in the United States and Puerto Rico and the second-largest producer and seller of chicken in Mexico.

Responsibilities: Pilgrim's Pride is seeking a Sr. Tax Analyst for our Pittsburg (East Texas) or Dallas,TX location.

The Senior Tax Analyst works closely with Tax Analysts and Tax Managers on all phases of tax audits and tax preparation. The Senior Tax Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting in tax audits, tax research, reviewing federal and state income tax returns and foreign tax returns; developing and supervising staff, preparing more complex tax returns.

Essential Duties:

1. Research and recommend on various tax matters; utilize tax-related software to research various tax matters, and prepare and process tax returns. 2. Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities. 3. Maintain good records of audit work papers and correspondences. 4. Work closely with Tax Analysts and Tax Managers to promptly gather information, resolve tax-related problems encountered in audit issues and preparation process. 5. Supervise, train, and mentor Tax Analysts on tax projects and assess performance of Tax Analysts; perform in-charge role as needed. 6. Review tax returns done by Tax Analysts and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and efficiency; gain increasing responsibility in review process. 7. Prepare tax returns for more complex tax returns. 8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing projects in a rapidly growing, interactive, results-based team environment. 9. Strong leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. 10. Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills and strong attention to detail. 11. Perform other job-related duties as necessary. 12. Ability to work additional hours as needed.

Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three to five years of progressive tax compliance and tax audits; experience in public accounting is a plus. • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Prosystems software, BNA and CCH. • Previous tax return review experience. • Tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returns. • Ability to supervise staff and lead projects.

Educational Requirement: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree. CPA preferred.
