Job Description
Leading Foodservice provider of fresh produce and dairy seeks a Senior Level Sales Manager of National Accounts who will manage a sales team. The ideal candidate can hit the ground running - we want someone who has been able to secure relationships and contracts that go beyond price, as we are a service and quality driven company. The successful person will be able to develop (and should already have) deep and open relationships with customers. They will create value for the customers by anticipating issues and identifying opportunities to solve their problems and in the process create value for the company.

Client focus will be on NRC’s, independent chains, hotels, and institutional accounts.

Your immediate main objectives will be to:

  • Earn (in relatively short order) the confidence and trust of our team and our customers to manage our largest accounts
  • Land new major business
  • Achieve the above while upholding the integrity and reputation of our company

Overall duties and responsibilities shall include:

  • Identify, source, close and manage national accounts
  • Lead all contract negotiations; work closely with senior company leadership to ensure customer, pricing, and fulfillment requirements match company capabilities and strategic objectives
  • As a senior leader in the company, work closely with other executives to ensure company values, goals and objectives are being followed and adopted throughout process
  • Work on cross functional teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement - marketing, operations and support
  • Represent company at industry functions and tradeshows

Candidate Requirements:

  • 8-10+ years experience with national accounts management, 2+ years personnel management
  • Candidate must be a seasoned veteran, with strong relationships with key purchasing/contracting officers at major restaurant, hotel, institutional and other food service chains.
  • Bid and contracting experience and absolute MUST.
  • Background in Produce preferred – individual with strong background in chain sales for other perishables or grocery also will be considered.
  • Must be a Self starter, able to manage 2 or 3 individuals, P&L focused.
  • Depending on experience, has the potential immediately or within relatively short order of joining existing executive team.
