Job Description
Our client, an international giant in the fast growing flavor and fragrance industry, is again growing and now seeking a bright and aggressive Flavor Sensory Manager:
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Flavor Sensory Manager, North America establishes and implements a strategy for NA Sensory support. Through the management of 3 personnel and programs, this hands-on individual delivers the Flavor Sensory strategy for North America and ensures that the Flavor Sensory Program is a leader in the industry. This person interacts and has a close working relationship with Marketing, Sales, the Design Team, Affiliates, and external customers. The Flavor Sensory Manager, North America reports to the Vice President, Flavor Sensory.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: -establish and manage Sensory strategy for NA with realistic and achievable short & long term goals. -identify and implement process changes allowing increased efficiency to deliver against sensory/consumer requests with speed and simplicity, using established resources. -leads a small team of Sensory professionals to deliver against the strategy, while developing their personal growth. -be responsible for all NA Sensory/Consumer/consumer insights projects from start to finish (interaction with requestor, coordination of sample availability, interaction with appropriate business contacts), managing resources appropriately. -actively participate in project management and client support using technical sensory skills. -build and maintain a strong network system throughout the Zone for collection of Sensory or Consumer data, either with other affiliates or external agencies. -promote and communicate clearly on Sensory function across all level of the Organization.
REQUIREMENTS: An MS or PhD in Food/Sensory Science or related discipline with at least 10 years experience of industry-related Sensory experience, or a BS with at least 15 years experience. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a successful track record of people and program management in a cross-functional environment, and strong project management and decision skills. Proficiency in statistical analysis and interpretation of traditional and more advanced sensory & consumer data and proficiency in Windows environment and SIMS with the capability of quickly learning new software applications are also required.
COMPENSATION: 100K – 120K plus a 10% Bonus potential ($90K if less experienced)
Domestic relocation provided. TRAVEL: 15% -Most client Travel is local & within driving distance.
