Job Description
The Judge Group, INC. is currently in search of a Plant Environmental Manager for an established Food Manufacturing Company located in California. This individual will be responsible for developing and supporting environmental programs and facilities that include: waste water pretreatment plant operations and quality, air emissions permitting and testing; storm water systems, hazardous and non-hazardous materials disposal; potable water quality and conservation and waste minimization programs. Candidate will direct and provide process training to the wastewater operators and maintenance technicians, plan and direct pretreatment preventive maintenance programs, refine operational process controls and monitor/treat wastewater streams for two production plants in a single industrial wastewater pretreatment facility. Candidate will also initiate capital improvement projects with respect to the wastewater pretreatment facility in conjunction with corporate engineering and technical services groups and will work with employees in an effort to reduce wastewater flow, BOD loading and salinity. The Environmental Manager will establish a sustainable production facility residuals management program; manage the treatment and disposal / recycling of all process waste generated by both production plants in compliance with local, state and federal agencies, regulatory requirements and corporate policies. Individual will select, evaluate, train and develop employees to assure department’s ability to maintain the facility and a positive work environment. REQUIREMENTS: Qualified Candidates for the Environmental Manager position MUST HAVE a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science or related field with a minimum of five years experience in a food manufacturing facility. Candidate must have experience with government regulations. Candidate must have strong people management skills, knowledge of biochemical and wastewater treatment processes, and safety/California OSHA regulations and policies as well as proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
