Job Description
Principal Accountabilities:

1. Provide leadership for research into new products, processes, and packaging with a focus on the technical and regulatory aspects. 2. Compile, prepare, review, and submit regulatory submissions to authorities. 3. Integrate scientific and regulatory knowledge throughout the product lifecycle with aspects of effective management and strategy development. 4. Anticipate regulatory obstacles and emerging issues throughout the product lifecycle and develop solutions with others. 5. Monitor and communicate relevant changes in the regulatory environment 6. Communicate with scientific and regulatory personnel. Ability to influence the regulatory environment. 7. Effective member in cross functional teams to achieve the strategic goals of the business. 8. Participate in professional associations, industry groups, and appropriate standards organizations.

Education & Experience

1. Minimum education required: Ph.D. Education Preferred: Food Science, or a closely related scientific discipline. Minimum Experience: 10 years experience in regulatory affairs with FDA/USDA. Experience must include at least five (5) years in a management-level position managing, motivating and coordinating multi-disciplinary functions to accomplish the goals. Experience in other aspects 2. Demonstrated ability in building and developing successful teams utilizing internal and external resources. Proactive, collaborative management style; successful experience working in cross functional teams. 3. Knowledge and understanding of the scientific, regulatory and legal frameworks, regulatory requirements, legislation, processes and procedures. Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulatory requirements including New Technology, GRAS, and IMA processes. 4. Global experience very desirable / helpful. 5. Background working in organizations known for having a commitment to quality, customer support, product innovation and market leadership. 6. Proven track record of innovative problem solving.
