Business Development Manager-contract/Winnipeg

The Business Development Manager focuses sales activity on a select portion (Tier 3 accounts) of the operator customer base for the specific purpose of protecting the company brands and creating additional brand demand. Develop account plans for key Tier 3 account base, ensuring plans drive achievement of the annual growth target. This is accomplished by penetrating assigned customers at multiple levels, developing a deep understanding of their needs and selling solutions.

• Prepare and demonstrate all Unilever products for all Tier 3 Chefs, Managers and / or Foodservice Buyer. • Process daily sales activity in computer while maintaining and updating all customer’s files on a regular basis including competitive activity / placements. Unilever Foodsolutions product status and updating Tier 3 operator account status regularly per respective account criteria. • Identify and qualify Tier 3 operator accounts where brewing and / or dispensing equipment is required to support volume growth. This includes securing equipment contract, ordering equipment and tracking purchases to ensure program purchase requirements are achieved. • Provide technical information, suggestions and sales information to end-users on all Unilever products. • Prepare a comprehensive strategy to adequately cover the assigned Tier 3 account on a regular cycle (Time and Territory Management). • Establish sales goals as they relate to territory conversions and volume targets for the key initiatives that focus on driving performance against the established National, Regional, Innovation and Market Focus sell goals on a regular basis. • Ensure operator orders are transferred to the respective Distributor Account Manager on a Timely basis solidifying shipment of Unilever Foodsolutions products. • Develop and manage strong working knowledge of computer applications required to facilitate daily business operations including but not limited to; MS Office, VINNET, Outlook, Siebel and Gelco Operator Trade Management system. • The Business Development Manager position requires a greater level of sales experience within the foodservice sales industry. • This position level requires ongoing training focus on Unilever Foodsolutions products and procedures while less emphasis is required to meld typical `foodservice sales traits and responsibilities’.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing / 2 year Culinary Degree 3-5 years foodservice sales with operations and food preparation knowledge, chefmanship an asset

The Business Development Manager position is key to building the long-term growth of the Company’s brands.

Incumbent to the position has a thorough knowledge of the foodservice industry, food preparation and presentation coupled with the ability to relate to those in the industry and build long term business relationships.
