JOB DESCRIPTION: Sr. Mechanical Engineer Salary Level: $75k - $85K Location: Baltimore Reports to: Engineering VP
Summary: Position that performs Production Engineering Functions.
• Support operations as required with a focus on increasing rates, maximizing yields, and reducing downtime. • Design and draw simple mechanical parts in AutoCAD. • Create and Update Engineering Documents, P&ID, Electrical Drawings, tag sheets in Viso, Excel, & Word. • Complete and update engineering changes regarding tasks and inventory on new equipment and improvements in reference to preventative maintenance. • Monitor processes and equipment for improving equipment operation and efficiencies. • Investigate and prepare reports on projects. • Assist in Electrical Technician duties in regards to wiring, diagnosing controls, and replacements of parts. • Perform Equipment Start Ups • Assist in project scheduling and costing through Microsoft Project. • Assist in constant improvement and problem solving through original thinking, brainstorming, problem definition, and implementation. • Support the Maintenance Function through training, development of improved parts and procedures, improvement of Preventative Maintenance tasks and training, using the Maintenance Software (MP2).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BS in Mechanical Engineering.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and analyze blueprints and schematics. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and be able to present information and respond to questions from groups of employees within the organization as well as vendors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical concepts, such as Ohm’s Law, pressure & flow, and mechanical leverage to resolve maintenance and Engineering problems.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be computer literate and be able to work without close supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places or confined spaces and is exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing protection is required in certain work areas.
