SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST – New Product Development

Develop Tasteful & Healthy Products for a world-leading producer of food & industrial ingredients using corn and other renewable sources.

SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST New Product Development

In this Full-Time role, you will help advance our industry leadership position through your development of reduced calorie and healthy ingredients. Focusing on opportunities to add health benefits to our products, you will take charge of developing food ingredient systems that include carbohydrate-based sweeteners, food stabilizers, sucralose, polydextrose and maltodextrin.

The qualified candidate has:

• 5-10 years of industrial research or manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in the development of new food products • PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Food/Medicinal Chemistry or a related field • Willingness to travel between 20-25% of the time • Expertise in the chemistry and application of carbohydrate ingredients with proven success in new product development • Effective verbal/written communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills • Desire to achieve genuine customer satisfaction • Scale-up and commercialization background preferred • Understanding of the use of bulking agents, flavor potentiators, texturizing agents and sensory evaluation procedures is a plus
