Job Description
Our client, a large manucacturer of refrigerated foods is seeking an R&D Project Manager.
“Hands on” Leadership of new product development and technical service project activities. This individual will lead and participate as member of new product development teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Provide management of new product development projects (concept through commercialization) within required timelines and specifications.
2. Maintain and update all project related data and effectively communicate project progress to product development teams.
3. Collaborate with and provide technical leadership / support to Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Quality Assurance concerning new product development and product maintenance. 4. Participate in the development of improvements in existing products and processes.
5. Present innovative concepts and products for internal / external accounts on an ongoing basis.
6. Coordinate and train internal employees on procedures to support the launch of new and current products.
7. Solicit information regarding future product requirements to collectively address new opportunities.
8. Perform other duties of similar nature or level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related degree and 3-5 years experience performing similar work in the food industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Master’s Degree preferred. 2. Knowledge in food science, nutrition, labeling regulations, ingredients functionality and food processing.
3. Project planning and management skills. Ability to manage technical staff and coordinate project work of associates on product development team.
4. Strong computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal abilities.
5. Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with company policies; including training, planning, assigning and directing tasks. 6. Ability to think independently and quickly to resolve issues. Full benefits and relocation provided. Minneapolis area residents encouraged to reply.
