The position is at a plant, and is the number two finance person. This position will be responsible for plant reporting, product costing, budgets & forecast, actual vs. forecast variance analysis, and period close. In addition, the position will develop and implement improvements in financial reporting, work closely with the plant controller and plant management staff to deliver cost savings goal and operational performance metrics.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly rolling variance forecasting.
• Weekly updating of monthly scorecard with actual and forecast variances.
• Assist in period closing activities. Ensure all balance sheet accruals are an accurate reflection of outstanding liabilities. Monthly accruals should be as accurate as possible, but emphasis is on quarter ending balances.
• Analyze monthly variances between actual results, current estimate, plan, and prior year. Summarize variances for reporting to plant management and corporate.
• Provide management with potential opportunities and risks on assigned business through analysis of actual performance trends.
• Prepare product costing for new business.
• Supervise / develop two accounting associates.
• Monitor Cost Savings Targets throughout the year to verify that plant savings are in line with goals.
• Assist corporate in developing management reports through functional knowledge of the following systems: SAP BI, SAP BPC, & SAP General Ledger.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and potential assignment to special studies/teams to assist management in evaluating key opportunities for the company.
• Compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley internal reporting requirements.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and special projects as required.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• CPA or MBA is preferred.
• Diversified experience is preferred.
• Experience with SAP is desired.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).
• Exceptional PC skills required (spreadsheets, database management, presentations, word processing, etc).
• Solid work ethic with a high level of energy; can take a 'roll-up-the-sleeves' approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
