Packaging Project Engineer

Position Summary: The Packaging Project Engineer will be responsible for leading and driving major new product and package priorities and major cost management program (CMP) initiatives for Tropicana.
Major Responsibilities:
• Lead cross-functional project teams to develop, analyze, facilitate approval and commercialize projects within Tropicana Chain.
• Responsible for researching the type of capital equipment needed to support manufacturing of package innovations which will include determining the best technical packaging methodology, developing capital funding budget, RFQ and jointly negotiation with purchasing packaging equipment OEMs contracts.
• Develop and execute plan for installation of packaging equipment, develop RFQ for installation contractors, jointly negotiate with purchasing, installer contracts and conduct packaging OEM FAT/Simulation of equipment prior to shipment.
• Responsible to manage capital budgets required for packaging projects that will range from $0.5 M to $10M.
Qualifications:
• Must be able to travel up to 30% to support projects as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years experience with bottling/packaging equipment in engineering, R&D, technical services or operations in a CPG or pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
• Experience with beverage packaging equipment including machine functionality, line installation and start-up processes.
• Solid understanding of supply chain costs as well as the P&L for a business venture.
• Ability to identify and drive margin improvement initiatives.
• Understanding of Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) and Early Management philosophies preferred.
