Job Description
An progressive industry leading food safety company is seeking a Business Development Manager to help establish new customers and maintain their existing customer base in fresh produce food safety. This position will be based out of Monterey County.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for:
Achieve assigned produce food safety sales budget. Create, communicate and execute account sales plans for targeted customers. Manage and coordinate relationships with all buying influences at each key account to ensure successful close of single sales objective(s). Negotiate sales agreements to meet or exceed sales and gross margin objectives. Lead, plan and coordinate all customer-focused activities for assigned accounts. Establish sustainable relationships between Company and assigned accounts. Seek and identify opportunities for cross selling and manage Company’s response. Maintain current database of customers for timely, clear and concise understanding. Support and participate in Company’s presence at industry tradeshows and conferences when appropriate. Communicate effectively with project managers and others with ongoing customer relationships to oversee and ensure resolution of customer issues.

REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree (Food Science preferred) Minimum of 3 years fresh produce experience Understanding of fresh produce, comfortable working with growers, and total food safety Work well with others and demonstrate strong communication skills. Able to manage customers and the challenges of a dynamic marketplace Knowledge of fresh produce industry key players in the business, familiarity with target marketplace of growers Integrity, commitment to excellence, customer focus
