Job Description
Fonterra is a world leader in dairy production. A cooperative in New Zealand, Fonterra is owned by approximately 12,000 farmers throughout the country. It is the sixth-largest dairy company in the world, and the most influential by far when it comes to determining international dairy trade, The number one dairy ingredients exporter, handling over a third of all international dairy exports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Export Documentation Lead Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Creating documentation for each export shipment departing the US for Globally Sourced product. Such examples would include but not limited to Health Certificates, Sanitary Certificates, Veterinary Certificates, Halal Certificates, Certificates of Origin, Certificates of Free Sale, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists.
  • Work closely with the Global Sourcing team to aid in the management of product being sourced directly from the vendor for exports with key results in lowering costs by the elimination of third party procurement services.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local and government authorities in regards to documentation required for export. (Both US and Overseas government authorities)
  • Maintain positive relationships with the customer service and documentation team in New Zealand.
  • Ensure error-free documents are sent to the customer prior to vessel arrival at port of destination.
  • Liaise with the documentation team in New Zealand, local USDA authorities, overseas Embassy offices to ensure the correct documentation necessary prior to vessel departure from the United States.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of GTS (Global Transport System)
  • Ensure AES and/or customs compliance prior to vessel departure from the United States via GTS. (Global Transport System)
  • Work with the customer service and documentation teams with various steamship lines to maintain timely, efficient and correct bills of lading for various release methods to customer (original and express release)
  • Update management reports sent out weekly in regards to on-time execution and any issues that may arise before, during and after transit
  • Monitors DIFOT (Delivery In-Full On Time) in order to maintain Fonterra’ high quality standards
  • Maintain robust and complete documentation files in the event of an external audit.
  • Investigate detention/demurrage claims in co-operation with the customer service team in New Zealand and the Export Manager.
  • Potentially lead a 2 member export documentation/coordination team where results will be measured in the form of on-time deliveries, efficiency, cost effectiveness and other key targets as the process is developed.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Background in Freight Forwarding
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Software Applications.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be very detail oriented and self motivated
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work efficiently

    EDUCATION:

  • Must have BA/BS degree. Minimum 5 years of experience in export documentation highly preferred.
