Job Description
Duties: Works closely with Safety, Production, and Sanitation to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant. Spends most of the time on the production floor to monitor and document labor for each machine repair. Ensures that all PM/CM (Preventative and Corrective Maintenance) are completed and updated in the system. Monitors and maintains the maintenance operating budget to control costs. Assists engineering with the addition or modification of equipment or systems, Promotes compliance with governmental regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and the Maintenance Food Safety Program. Prepares and submits the weekly reports to keep management informed of spending, labor and overtime, status of projects, and issues, for example. Conduct departmental meetings with employees. Solves problems. Communicates effectively with all levels of employees.

Requirements: B.A. or B.S. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred. 5+ years experience in maintenance with 3+ years supervisory experience, preferably in a high speed production environment (food processing with an understanding of food plant sanitation and good manufacturing practices is preferred). Familiarity with local, state, and federal agencies as related to the food industry. Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with continuous improvement processes (Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing). Solid organizational, planning, troubleshooting, analytical, motivational, and computer skills.
