Job Description
Responsibilities • Will report to our Research & Development Manager • Develop recipes for new products, as well as making changes to current recipe formulations • Support the R&D Department as needed • Coordinate multiple concurrent food product launches from bench top testing to production commercialization • Assist in the research and develop of formulations, machinery requirements, ingredients, and manufacturing processes for new products • Organize and control necessary ingredient inventory for research projects • Maintain food samples for buyers and sales team • Complete department reports • Practice personal hygiene, sanitation standards, and follow good manufacturing practices (CGMPs)
Requirements
• Must be a local candidate residing in the San Francisco Bay Area • Culinary degree from CIA, Johnson & Wales, CCA or other culinary school • Needs to have 3+ years cooking experience in either restaurant or hotel industry • 2+ years recipe development experience in meat and seafood recipes • Must understand food manufacturing development process • Must be self-motivated and a self-starter • Desire to work hands-on through all stages of product development • Good organizational skills and attention to detail • Must be able to multi-task multiple projects and work in a deadline driven environment • Sharp analytical skills and creative problem solver • Dedication to meet project deadlines and willing to work extended hours when necessary • Able to work in a fast paced, collaborative work environment • Team player, yet able to work independently • Resourceful and takes initiative • Interest in the consumer food products industry • MS Office • Ability to lift 50 lb bag • Degree in Food Science a plus
