This position within the Global Mobility Department is an opportunity to work on taxation with international employees around the world and to optimize the effectiveness and accuracy of internal expatriate tax and accounting processes ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. The roles primary purpose is to ensure that US Inbound and Outbound expatriate compensation and taxes are reported accurately for US taxation. Also to ensure that optimum effectiveness of internal expatriate tax and accounting processes.
Principal Responsibilities: 1. Organize, receive, track and compile data from HR partners worldwide for US tax reporting purposes and year-end W-2 reporting in conjunction with Global Mobility staff. Including preparing the tax authorization list and process vendor payments for tax services (20%)
2. Review and process assigned tax equalizations and reconciliations from tax provider for accuracy and compliance with expatriate policy. Analyze, correct an communicate with tax provider and expatriate, when necessary. Direct CFR on proper tax charge out of tax advances. (15%)
3. Research and analyze W-2 questions from the tax provider and research US tax notices. Identify more complex issues for analysis and communicate with tax provider and expatriate when necessary. (25%)
4. Prepare Home Rental Management statements in accordance with policy and work with outside vendors and employees. (10%)
5. Prepare and communicate accounts receivable statements according to company policy and addressed questions promptly and prepare quarterly reconciliation of expatriate financial accounts. (5%)
6. Research, analyze, and compile reports for year-end W-2 and tax reporting purpose. (10%)
7. Process, track and maintain executive compensation data related to bonus payments for current expatriates. (10%)
8. Participate in various special projects as assigned, including process improvement initiatives. (5%)
Required: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or 7 years of accounting experience.
3 plus years prior accounting experience, personal income tax field, international business or global mobility program.
Written communication skills enabling effective email communication with a variety of levels of English abilities.
Verbal communication skills sufficient to guide all levels of employees including executives, managers and administrative support personnel through expatriate processes. Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
High level of tact and ability to handle sensitive compensation and financial information. Excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
Proven analysis skills sufficient to ensure that compensation package modeling and tax calculations are accurate.
Working knowledge of desktop software.
Strong expertise in Excel.
Ability to be flexible in a changing environment and interface effectively within and cross-functionally in a team environment.
Preferred: Understanding of Cargill organization or related industry experience preferred.
Familiarity with use of HR database tools.
