Purpose

Provide Mechanical Engineering skills in support of company. manufacturing operations. This position will manage the Resource Conservation Program, develop and implement capital projects which support the manufacture of new products, reduce supply chain costs all within compliance of regulatory codes and guidelines.

This is a corporate position providing technical support to (4) manufacturing facilities configured for national distribution to customers.

Utilize Project Management skills to consistently deliver project scope on-time and on-budget. Apply industry leading technology in the areas of utility conservation, thermal processing, fluid dynamics and ergonomic material handling to continuously reduce supply chain costs. Provide engineering expertise and support to Research, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Quality Departments along with project groups and plant teams as requested.

Responsibilities include:

1.Collaborate with Corporate Engineering, Site Maintenance Managers and Plant Managers to develop annual and 3-year capital plans by recommending projects to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

2.Develop enterprise wide mechanical standards and guidelines to improve OEE.

3.Provide economic feasibility support to the Operations Group for both new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

4.Collaborate with Research, Engineering and Maintenance to design, specify, plan, implement and commission capital projects and ensure the delivery of project scope on-time and on-budget which meet agreed stakeholder expectations.

5.Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Maintenance for mechanical issues.

6.Provide technical leadership in developing means to improve equipment reliability.

7.Remain current with latest technology related to the manufacture of company products.

8.Remain current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to company mechanical systems design and operation.

9.Support the technical training and development of mechanical talent throughout the organization.

10.Conduct an annual self-assessment of your performance which identifies opportunities for performance improvement along with a personal development plan.

Qualifications:

Musts: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Ten years experience in food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry and/or high speed packaged consumer goods manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated experience in utilities conservation

Demonstrated Project Management experience as a hands-on project manager delivering project scope from concept to closure on-time end on-budget including:

Project scope up to $10M.

Manage project portfolio in various stages of project life cycle. Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Manage project stakeholders – internal / external

Manage project risk

Communication skills:

Facilitator Presentations Documentation Collaborative work style Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD, Minitab Passion for continuous improvement Self-motivated Ability to motivate and influence others Lean manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma experience
