Specialty Meats, Inc., an innovative processor of distinctive quality veal and lamb products, has an immediate opportunity available for an experienced West Coast Customer Service Representative
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY Responsible for order entry and customer service function in a fast paced environment. Must have proven ability to gain rapport and build a connection with customers, be a team member dedicated to specific accounts and provide exceptional service. Act as a problem solver, independent decision-maker and liaison between customers and various company departments (shipping, production, administration). Receives and answers, within established guidelines, customer questions and complaints. Must possess critical and analytical skills. Understand and analyze current inventory, forecast, knowledge of product movement, replenishment, and can suggestive sell.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Order entry of orders received or solicited. 2. Processing and tracking orders received in various methods, including fax, phone and EDI, requiring verification with customer of pricing, quantities and ship dates. 3. Solicitation of orders to new and existing customers 4. Process sample orders and follow up 5. Effective communication with Account Executives on order status, pricing, etc. 6. Create and maintain database and spreadsheet files 7. Ability to work early AM (5 AM start) hours
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 1. Working knowledge of MAS 90/AS 400 or similar order entry systems. 2. Fresh and case ready meat product knowledge a plus. 3. Current exposure to National Accounts, Independents and Distributors. 4. Good decision-making skills 5. Rapid, effective follow-up on communication 6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1. Four year college degree preferred or relevant years of experience (business, sales or marketing a plus). 2. Minimum one year experience as Customer Service Representative/Order Entry Clerk. 3. Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher). 4. Must reside in Southern California area. 5. Bilingual (English / Spanish) a plus. SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
