Tradin Organics USA, Inc, based in Shelton, CT is in the business of importation of high quality certified organic food ingredients from many countries and it supplies these organic ingredients to manufacturers of organic packaged consumer food for retail and food service industry. Commodity Trader/Category Manager
The Commodity Trader/Category Manager is responsible for selling all of the organic agricultural commodities that the Company trades with special focus on cocoa, sweeteners, IQF fruits and juices. The position is accountable for executing programs in its North America based customers’ requirements. The development and management of end-user customer relationships is a critical part of the job.
Major Objectives:
• Focusing on the Company’s strengths, significantly grow revenues for Tradin Organics USA while increasing gross and net margins.
• Closely manage inventory positions to ensure optimum levels are maintained.
• Develop an Annual Budget (revenues, costs, margins, and profits) by product and by customer.
• Implement a pro-active sourcing strategy which focuses on anticipating the future needs and work with Trade Managers in Holland.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Utilizing our existing relationships and his/her prior relationships, concentrate on developing high-volume, key accounts in the North American food industry.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the needs (price, quality, delivery, etc.) and market strategies of the Company’s key accounts.
• Focus on direct sales and direct delivery from the Company’s sources.
• Gain knowledge of and remain updated regarding the Company’s products, sources, and sourcing capabilities and contribute his/her knowledge to our systems.
• Thoroughly understand the Company’s prices and price build-up.
• Ensure that the cost pricing takes into account full costing, amongst others currencies, hedging costs, logistic costs, storage costs, overhead, etc.
• Optimize organic commodity program execution through all of Tradin Organic’s assets.
• Troubleshoot logistical concerns for shipments of commodities, both domestically and internationally, including freight, routing, location, etc.
• Monitor the accounts receivable of all external customers.
Candidate Criteria:
Education & Experience
• Undergraduate degree in Business, International Business or Economics.
• Evidence of continuous learning.
• A minimum of five years of experience trading food commodities including cocoa and sweeteners.
• Proven track record in international trading of food commodities.
• Seasoned seller of commodities to the food manufacturing industry.
