JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Marketing Assistant will support the marketing activities for all product categories within the Foodservice Business Unit. Provides a wide variety of analyses to aid the Foodservice Marketing team in decision making and develops communications of key information to both internal and external stakeholders.

The Marketing Assistant must have the desire and ability to work in a very fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with limited resources.

  • Support the Foodservice Marketing team with analysis and background information for development of annual marketing plans.
  • Serve as the point person for the development and communication of all marketing information to (and inquires from) our Sales and broker networks including but not limited to: new product launches, product line changes and deletions, marketing programs, product specifications, price changes, customer presentations, etc.
  • Manage the activities of our fulfillment supplier who is responsible for all collateral materials, product displays, trade show materials, sample kits, coupon programs, etc.
  • Review sales and profitability reports generated by the Sales & Marketing Analyst to make recommendations to Marketing team that will enhance business results
  • Work with Planning & Pricing Analysts to communicate price changes to Sales, brokers and internal departments within company; review and verify accuracy of customer specific product/pricing databases
  • With direction and supervision from the Product Marketing Manager, assume a major support role in managing our seasonal cookie product segment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Success in this position will require good project management and organizational skills as well as the ability to interact with many internal and external groups in support of Marketing department activities.

  • An undergraduate degree in Marketing is required.
  • 1-2 years in a Marketing or Sales support role is preferred, with Foodservice Channel experience a plus
  • Good project management and coordination skills with the ability to excel in a fluid, cross-functional team environment
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations to Marketing management with limited data
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to keep a large number of projects/tasks going concurrently
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
