Company Description:

Well known, established food service distributor is growing as evidenced by the fact that they will soon be opening a new facility based in the Houston area. Company has been in the industry over 6 decades and has a reputation of high quality service, expanded product lines, and competitive pricing. In recent years, the firm has shifted from private label products to regional and national branded lines.

Major Food Service customers include: School Districts, National Chain accounts, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Day Care Centers, Entertainment and Sporting Complexes, Government Agencies, and all types of Restaurants. They value and appreciate all their clients and focus on personalized customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Progressive sales experience in the foodservice channel calling on locally owned restaurants, caterers, chefs, hotels, schools and hospitals
• Strong desire and ability to motivate and manage people particularly in the foodservice channel or in a restaurant or foodservice business
• Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and increase sales volume by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call and/or visit existing accounts
• Prospect for new business within territory
• Ability to adjust presentation style to the buying needs of the client
• Closes new sales by building rapport with potential account, explaining products and service capabilities, overcoming objections, assists in setup of customer account with corporate office.

Requirements Required Skills and Duties:

• Progressive sales record
• Foodservice distributor or supplier experience
• Restaurant management experience preferred
• Beer or soft drink sales experience would be appropriate
• Some real estate or mortgage sales experience plus food would be desirable
• Ideally 5+ years sales background
• Drive to sell and grow territory volume, number of customer accounts, and sales revenue. Self-starters with good street sales experience
• Four year degree preferred
