Job Description
A Fortune 100 Food Manufacturing Company located in the Rocky Mountain area

Education: Minimum education required: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance Education preferred: Graduate level degree in Accounting (MACC) or Business Administration (MBA)

Qualifications: a. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification desired b. Three to five years progressive accounting/financial reporting experience with high level database management skills. c. Computer Proficiency: Adept at using computer office management tools, such as database, spreadsheet, word processing, electronic mail, etc. as an integral part of day-to-day activity. Ability to use applicable financial and in-house software to do needed analysis and report generation required to support management and decision-making activities. Preferably Microsoft Professional for the database, spreadsheet, and word processing (e.g. Access, Excel, and Word). Preferably Lotus Notes for the electronic mail. Preferably SAP and PeopleSoft for the in-house software to do needed analysis and report generation. d. Expertise in managerial accounting & reporting and financial analysis. Activity Based Costing experience and knowledge desired. e. Expertise in financial forecasting and budgeting. Manage finance and tactical objectives to meet plant objectives through financial cost analyses and plant floor studies. Responsible for cost accounting functions, analysis, studies, internal reporting and related cost records. Oversee all cost accounting reports. Provide value-added cost analysis, cost savings, plant spending and post project audits. Assist with Annual Operating Plan (AOP), strategic finance planning, forecasting, auditing, and reconciliations. Prepare statements according to GAAP and SOX. Bachelors Degree required. High Level Database Management Skills and Change Management Skills required. Advanced Degree or Professional Certification preferred. SAP software experience preferred. Weekend work will be required during closings and budget development. Wage is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for internal management reporting and supporting analysis -- 25%. a. Product Processing Yield Analysis b. Direct Labor Analysis c. Raw Material Yield (Inventory Adjustments) Analysis d. Root Cause Failure Analysis 2. Responsible for cost studies and new item set-ups -- 25%. 3. Responsible for spending and variance analyses -- 25%. 4. Responsible for timely and accurate closings -- 15%. 5. Responsible for internal controls and supporting audits -- 10%. 6. Ensures that items are correctly classified and statements prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes and Oxley (SOX). 7. Assists in the analytical and/or strategic function including the development of budgeting, planning, and forecasting. a. Ability to manage function, allocate resources, set priorities, and coordinate many interdependent groups. b. Involves varied tasks requiring advance problem solving skills. c. Conceives ideas for solutions to problems. d. Assesses feasibility of proposed solutions and participates in the resolution of issues. e. Resolves conflict problems escalated by associates.
