POSITION SUMMARY: Oversee and coordinate the total business relationship between the Company and the customer. Sell/lease mechanical equipment and food processing machinery.
This includes but is not limited to leased and/or purchased equipment as well as loaned equipment.
Plans, designs and conducts research to aid in interpretation of economic relationships and in solution of problems arising from production and distribution of goods and services: Studies economic and statistical data in the area of specialization, such as agriculture and food processing.
Analyzes the profitability of each account and acts accordingly in the on-going development of the business relationship.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain open lines of communication in developing leads for product sales and installation within the industry.
• Develop action plans including sales and marketing strategies to respond/support the customer’s product/needs (includes priorities set by the customer with consideration to the Company’s goals.) These plans should involve other groups internal/external to the company as appropriate.
• Introduce new or improved technology to the customer as it is developed.
• Analyze revenue and cost data on customer accounts. Develop strategies and plans to increase profit margins using new/improved technology developed by the Company.
• Manager domestic Sales personnel.
• Communicate with the Senior VP of Sales and Service to ensure all groups are informed of pending project status for planning purposes.
• Prepare schedules, charts, graphs, budgets as required.
• Prepare budgets for sales activities as required.
• Submit required sales/activity reports on a timely basis.
• Draw up sales and/or service contracts. Ensures timely billing and payment of customer invoices.
• Prepare and maintain Machinery Requirement Report.
GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Contacts current and potential customers, visits establishments to evaluate needs, and promotes sale of products and services.
• Recommends and sells industrial machinery, equipment, materials, supplies and services utilizing knowledge of machine operations.
• Computes installation or production costs, estimates savings, and prepares and submits bid specifications to customer for review and approval.
• Reviews existing machinery/equipment placement and diagrams proposal to illustrate efficient space utilization using standard measuring devices and templates. Inspects establishment premises to verify installation feasibility and obtains building blueprints and elevator specifications to submit to engineering department for bid.
• Attends sales and trade meetings and reads related publications to obtain current market condition information, business trends, and industry developments.
• Follow proper safety procedures and safeguard others’ safety at all times understanding the obligation to refuse to perform any tasks that are unsafe.
• Accept travel assignments including foreign countries.
• Accept relocation within Florida.
• Accept other duties as assigned including working in other departments or locations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS degree in a Marketing/Economics discipline (some knowledge of Food Science is preferred.)
• Possess marketing (sales/presentation), economic (analysis of financial data) aptitude.
• Familiarity with operations of Food processing including production, safety, sanitation, quality assurance, and cost management. Food processing equipment experience helpful.
• Strong computer literacy in electronic communications, word processing, spreadsheets. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand technical documents, laboratory and field data, proposal and lease documents. This includes marketing strategies and tactics, product demonstration and sales techniques, and sales control systems.
• Strong people and management skills.
• Must work to deadlines and milestones on multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Strong organization skills.
• Valid Florida Drivers License. Must have reliable vehicle to travel between job locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Capable of working in temperature and non-temperature controlled environment.
• Capable of climbing, bending, squatting, and reaching above shoulder height.
• Capable of working around moving equipment and machinery.
• Capable of working overtime and various shifts as required.
