POSITION SUMMARY:
Technical Sales person is to oversee and coordinate the total business relationship between the company and the customer. This includes but is not limited to leased and or purchased equipment, loaned equipment, Technical Service, Engineering and Service support. The Technical Sales Person analyzes the profitability of each account and acts accordingly in the on-going development of the business relationship. The technical sales person will work with citrus and non citrus applications.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain open lines of communication on a programmed schedule with the various contacts at each customer. Continually assess the customer’s needs and priorities.
• Develop action plans to support the customer’s needs including the priority of each activity required to respond to the customer’s needs. Action plans are to involve other people or groups, internal and external to the Company, as appropriate.
• Introduce new or improved technology to the customer as it is developed by the Company.
• Analyze revenue and cost data on customer accounts. Develop strategies and plans to improve margins.
• Provide information within the Company to ensure that all groups are kept properly informed of pending project status for their planning purposes.
• Oversee project execution to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure timely billing and payment of customer invoices.
• Submit required sales/activity reports on a timely basis.
• Prepare budgets for sales activities as required.
• Analyze and write technical reports.
GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Follow proper administrative, security, and safety procedures as required by customers and the Company.
• Accept travel assignments including foreign countries.
• Accept job assignments from Sales Manager for any type of work for which employee is deemed qualified.
• Accept other duties as assigned including working in other departments or locations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor Degree of a Technical discipline.
• Familiarity with basic operations of food processing including production, safety, sanitation, quality assurance, and cost management.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and write quotes and proposals.
• Basic computer literacy in electronic communications, word processing, spreadsheets, database.
• Ability to understand technical documents, laboratory and field data, proposal and lease documents.
• Valid Florida Drivers License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Capable of working in temperature and non-temperature controlled environment.
• Capable of climbing, bending, squatting, and reaching above shoulder height.
• Capable of working around moving equipment and machinery.
• Capable of working overtime and various shifts as required.
