Job Description
My client, a manufacturer of specialty food products, is seeking a
Quality Assurance Director for their operation, located in San Diego, CA.
This key position will develop, implement, and coordinate product assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Duties · Responsible for product food safety and quality by ensuring quality systems are in place and all employees are trained in adhering to them. · Develop, track, analyze, and communicate quality related Key Performance Indicators. · Cooperate with top management in establishing company policies. · Develop initial and subsequent modifications of product assurance programs. · Develop and manage department budget. · Review technical problems and procedures of departments and recommend solutions. · Visit and confer with vendors to obtain information related to supplier quality, capacity of the supplier to meet orders and supplier quality standards. · Manage a total of 8-12 employees in the QA Department. · Interview, hire and train employees.
Qualifications · BA or BS in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field. · Ten years of experience in quality management
