Our Client, a leader in the Food Manufacturing Industry, is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for their East Coast Facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will be Degreed and have prior experience in the Food Industry.
The maintenance supervisor will supervise and/or carry out a variety of maintenance duties and mechanical repairs, with responsibility for minimizing downtime, and ensuring overall maintenance and smooth plant functioning at our Client’s Processing/Production facility. Other responsibilities include carrying out preventive maintenance, training employees, preparing part requisitions, and performing related tasks. Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, however; experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Good working knowledge of processing equipment, pumps, hydraulics, machine shop practices, etc. is required. Accountabilities: Perform as a leader in maintenance, providing support and direction to members of the maintenance work team. Primary focus will be to lead the maintenance team to successfully meet plant and corporate objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Mechanical of Electrical Engineering preferred or BS/BA college degree in a technical discipline.
- 2-5 years prior management or leadership experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Demonstrated understanding of proactive maintenance methodologies (time based, condition based, and predictive).
- Commitment to continuous learning in the areas of maintenance techniques, such as TPM and Root-Cause Analysis. Additional Qualifications:
- Proven strong leadership skills in visualizing end results, and implementing action strategies.
- Willing to take risks in decision-making and implementation of improvements
- Desire and ability to lead change in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment.
- Ability to identify training needs of maintenance employees.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal written, electronic, listening and feedback communications.
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change.
- Ability to motivate team members and to help them develop pride and ownership.
- Demonstrated understanding of maintenance skills including lubrication, welding, machining, materials, basic electrical, and machine repair.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce all applicable FDA,EPA,OSHA, and GMI specific safety and regulatory laws, policies, or practices.
- Prior experience with CMMS systems.
- Good application of business judgment in decision making to achieve department and plant objectives.
- Willing to work weekends or alternative shifts.
- Educate, develop and motivate a manufacturing maintenance work group to achieve required production results, and improve individual performance.
