Position Overview:
The Foods Service Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for achieving sales objectives consistent with corporate volume and profit budgets. The RSM manages planning and execution against volume, distribution and pricing objectives. The RSM is also instrumental in initiating and developing significant volume at key assigned Customers in their respective region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning – Provides strategic input reflects market place and customer requirements into the Custom Culinary™ annual sales & marketing planning process. The input should focus on specific customer strategies and tactics that will result in final plan that can be executed to achieve company objectives.
Market Planning – Establishing market plans/priorities, objectives and strategies that deliver Custom Culinary™ objectives within defined corporate goals.
Sales/Volume Execution – Achieve key sales priories (distribution, volume, pricing, Operator coverage). Achieve/exceed volume & profit goals for key assigned Customers and Segments in their respective territory.
Trade Spending – Manage trade spending to ensure Custom Culinary™ funds are effectively consistent with the Food Service strategies and profit goals. Monitor customer activity to assess the impact of marketing programs and make appropriate recommendations.
Customer Development – The RSM should penetrate key distributor and Operator customers by broadening the Custom Culinary™ product line and by focusing on adding value and facilitating the execution of strategic initiatives to achieve an on-going competitive advantage.
Broker Management & Evaluation – The RSM is responsible for managing Brokers in accordance with Custom Culinary™ policies and procedures. Specific responsibilities include selection and retainment of a qualified Broker; training and development; and performance evaluation, including periodic feedback on performance as well as a formal annual evaluation. The RSM should penetrate all levels of the Broker operation to ensure the appropriate level of qualified resources is deployed against Custom Culinary™.
Administration – Effectively manage administrative responsibilities, which include information requests, Forge Trade Spend Tool, Sales Plus (CRS), SDS, sales reports etc. Must be computer literate.
Personal Development – The RSM should work with the respective Regional Vice President to assess development needs and participate in identifying the appropriate training plans which will facilitate personal & professional growth. These are managed through our HRPlus system.
Education and/or Experience:
College degree required.
Experience of managing a foodservice broker network and generating sales in this go-to market strategy.
Experience as a sales rep for a Foodservice manufacturing company
Proven experience in building and maintaining business relationships
Ability to coach for enhanced performance
