Continuous Improvement Manager

As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will be in charge of your plant’s entire team to ensure the Continuous Improvement environment-- establishing a zero-loss manufacturing culture where everyone, everyday, learns & improves something, delivering World Class sustainable performance. This site has an unionized work environment and needs a manager who will lead the continuous improvement efforts. This manager will be the right hand manager to the Plant Manager and will report directly to the Plant Manager. All qualified candidates must have worked for a dynamic company which has already implemented team systems and have been successful in achieving results through continuous improvement methods.

Essential Job Functions include:

- lead the continual cultural shift to managing through business units and team participation.

-Coordinate and support plant business units with (e.g., 5S, Safety, planned maintenance, focused improvement, etc.)

-engage all associates through hands-on mentoring, audits, etc.

-participate in business unit activities (e.g., Kaizen events/ Six Sigma)

-establish—as necessary—action plans and follow-up meetings

-instill a “hands-on,” systematic approach to problem solving Requirements Qualifications:

Must have multiple years experience leading, guiding, and mentoring teams and individuals.

understand group dynamics and team development

facilitate cross-functional team performance; overseeing root-cause analysis, data collection, and problem solving utilizing key TPM/ CPS concepts such as “Why, Why/ How How”, Phenomena Thinking, etc.

effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form, to all levels of the organization

be knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and

be familiar with training methods and be able to present information to different sized groups

In essence, you are a “change agent” who is responsible for leading and managing continual improvement process. It’s important to note that your role as a “change agent” is the only constant in your job. You will continually challenge your team and all associates to improve through systematic application of continuous improvement methodologies and leading by example.
