Job Description
OPERATIONS QUALITY: -Facilitate and/or support the plant in use and refinement of a disciplined, clearly defined, well-documented, and systematic commercialization process for implementing change into plant processes for new product launches and existing product and process redigns. -In conjunction with the plant manager, ensure specifications and manufacturing documents are current and available to the appropriate operators and other plant staff prior to plant trials and/or start-ups of any new product or process and accountable for proactively communicating same to Operations Quality Manager(s). -Support translation of product specifications to appropriate manufacturing documentation. -Support defining plant process capabilities, sampling plans, & protocols to transition product from R&D pilot to commercial manufacturing (e.g., in-process control points). -Lead and/or support other members of plant management assuring that plant quality goals are met. -Ensure customer-acceptable product is being produced at the plant (winning the consumer every time, giving the competitive edge). -Maintain the plant consumer complaint reporting system. Analyze and interpret data. Utilize data and information to make recommendations and changes to the overall effectiveness of the plants quality and food saftey program. -Facilitate activities that empower, engage, and involve operators with information and tools for continuous improvement. -Supports the use of toolboxes (SPC,ISO,SFC,POS,API ect.) -Lead and/or facilitiate the Plant Crisis Team (example leadership in product failures, stock withdrawls, recalls, or any major event involving product quality or food saftey). -Support the Operations Quality Manager of Logistics and supply chain. -Determination and implementation of product dispositions regarding national holds due to higher level quality & regulatory issues (e.g., Southeast Region quality issue). -Determination and implementation of product dispositions regarding holds, warehouse, transport, and logistics issues (e.g., leakers, truck wreks, temp holds, shelf life). -Manage plant laboratory -Development of supervisory personnel for further advancements and overall job satifsaction. -Oversee employee training and development for hourly and supervisory levels, in commercialization, continuous improvement, general manufacturing processes, along with food saftey and regulatory requirements. -QUALITY SYSTEMS: -Food Saftey and Plant Regulatory -Implement and maintain food saftey programs (i.e. HACCP, SSOP, PQC, New weight controls) and appropriate prerequisite programs (i.e. traceability, hold and release, metal detection, foreign object controls). -Serve as liaison with local, area, and Gederal USDA and FDA personnel. -Analyze and interprets Non Comjpliance Records, and other regualtory reports for adverse trends that could affect the continued operation of the facility. -Utilize data and information to make recommendations and changes to the overall effectiveness of the plants quality and food saftey programs. -Liaison for plant between international customers, regulators and Enterprise Quality Syatems personnel for export products manufactured at the location.
