Job Description
Apply technical expertise to increase shareholder value by growing new profit, protecting and improving existing profit streams, and creating product advantages. -Utilizing a basic understanding of business opportunities to identify and prioritize work assignments to drive results that add value. -Utilizing a basing understanding of voice-of-the-customer/internal requirements, project management and problem solving/decision making tools to plan project work. -With leader approval, executing the project plant to design/improve product prototyles following the standard operating procedure established by Research and Development, and obtaining validation of prototypes against customer requirements or existing standards-this involves ordering new ingredients, setting up formulas, and coordinating all activities related to plant trials. -Planning and conducting scale-up trials at a customer's request or for product development with limited supervision. Commercialize newly developed and approved prototypes. Developing internal and external specifications, standard formula guidelines and plant production standard operating procedure manuals. -Using a basing understanding of regulatory labeling standards to generate ingredient/nutritional information to be provided to Creative Services. -Working to develop a network to effectively get projects completed;developing a good understanding of the food industry and competitors;maintaining a network of key contacts. -Maintaining and conducting the benchmarking program to routinely compare products to the brand targets. -Participating on cross-functional teams in the development of new products and processes which have value. -Conveying technical information and concepts to non-technical partners at all levels of the organization, writing technical reports, and marking presentations to selected audiences.
